Bepanthen Cream is your take-home after care antiseptic cream. It contains almond oil which soothes the affected area, Vitamin B5 which assists in the skin's natural healing process, and benzalkonium chloride which is a safe and effective antiseptic agent that helps protect the treated area.

Important things to remember with your new cosmetic tattoo creations.

PROTECTION IS VITAL

Section A:

When going in the sun, apply sunscreen over your cosmetic tattoo and wear sunglasses. Exposure to the sun over time can cause fading and changing of colour. Cover the tattoo with Vaseline when swimming in salt or chlorinated water to avoid any bleaching effect. Chemicals of any kind could interfere with the bonding process. Any glycolic acidic peels must be kept completely away from the tattoo as it may lighten the colour with continued use.

Section B:

No soap or cleansers on the treated area for one day, as this can be detrimental to the bonding process that must take place for the pigment to become stabilized on the dermis. Clean area with warm running water and cotton wool, pat dry; apply a smear of Bepanthen cream with a cotton tip in a gentle dabbing manner. For maximum results, the cream must be applied about every three to four hours for the next four days. Then continue if the skin feels dry. The area where the tattoo has been applied MUST BE KEPT MOIST for successful healing, without scabbing. ONLY a thin smear of cream to the tattooed area is necessary. Do not overdo it!

Use only moisturizers that contain con AH;As. NO make Up. NO picking at the scaling on the tattooed area, let the scales fall off naturally.

Colour will appear brighter and more sharply defined immediately following the procedure, colours will lighten and soften in three to ten days. After four weeks the colour seems to take on a new strength. Often clients think they’ve lost their colour because it has lightened too much, but wait for four weeks and then judge the result. This is the reason you have to wait over four weeks for it to be touched up.

THE EYEBROWS

A slight swelling may occur. If you experience tenderness or swelling, apply a cold press for a maximum of ten minutes per application- this may help alleviate the swelling. There is no after pain. Only a slight tenderness around the tattoo immediately after. For the next 24 hours, continue the wipe the eyebrows, as they will weep a clear fluid. (This is normal). Wipe firmly to remove fluid; otherwise a crusting or scab will build up which is not ideal for healing purposes. Keep a fine smear of Bepanthen cream over the brow area.

THE LIPLINE

There is no after pain- only dryness on the edge. Keep moist with Bepanthen cream, OR Bio protect tube or cold sore cream (Zovirax cream) if you suffer from cold sores. Ice can also be used to free the virus. The colour after 2 weeks will be lighter, and after 6 weeks the true colour while shine through. The colour will look a little different at various times of the day due to your own skin responses and different lighting will show a slightly different colour change. Lipstick can be worn immediately. Refer to section B.
